  Human Body Care - Evidence 1                     Diego Aviña 1. Anatomical Terms Anatomy is the science that studies body structures and the relationships among them. In the anatomical position, the person stands erect, facing the observer, with the head level and the eyes facing forward. The feet are flat on the floor and directed forward, and the arms are hanging at the sides, with the palms facing forward.  We can use two terms to describe a body that is lying down: the prone position is when the body is lying face down, and the supine position is when the body is lying face up.
